Our Curriculum
In keeping with the mission of our school, Indiana State Standards and Gary Diocese, we offer a curriculum
that integrates the teaching of religion, language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, art and music,
designed to educate the whole child.

Achievement
Academic Performance
St. Casimir is fully accredited by the State of Indiana. Students at St. Casimir School perform well
academically. Indiana Statewide Tests of Educational Progress (ISTEP) have earned St. Casimir School ratings
of Exemplary from the Indiana Department of Education and a Blue Ribbon from the U.S. Department of
Education.
Dedicated Faculty and Staff
St. Casimir School has a dedicated faculty and staff made up of 21 teachers, a computer teacher, 8 classroom
aides, and other support staff. Faculty professional development continues to be a vital component of school
improvement. With a continual focus on a student-engage in professional workshops and activities that
contribute to their growth as educators. Faculty members meet and collaborate on a weekly basis to evaluate
progress toward identified student and school goals.
Athletic Program
Students also are able to participate in diocesan-coordinated athletics programs as a means to their
well-rounded development - in mind, body and spirit. Competitive athletic programs are available to boys and
girls in fifth through eighth grades in various sports, provided they maintain an establishment minimum
academic standing defined in the School Handbook.
Alumni Success
Additionally, graduates of St. Casimir School consistently perform well in high school and college, and many
are among the top students in their classes. Many alumni have become successful and contributing members
of Hammond community and beyond. It is no secret that many alumni attribute much of their success to the
strong foundation they received at St. Casimir.
